Reed’s logistics services include logistical and management consulting; sourcing and acquisition of equipment; import and export; air, ground, and sea shipping; transport of personnel and freight; customs clearance; warehousing; inventory control and issuance; custom-designed logistical management and control system creation; and base and camp construction.
Reed and its hand-picked professional personnel have built and supported camps and mining operations in outlying areas of South Africa, Botswana, Angola, and West African countries. Our personnel have supported the acquisition and export of coffee and cocoa from the deep rural areas of Sierra Leone and Ghana to Europe and have supported the UN operations in Nairobi, Kenya.
Reed provided logistics support for the rehabilitation of the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) in Iraq consisting of USA nationals, foreign nationals, and Iraqi staff members operating out of Basrah, Baghdad, and Mosul. Through our operations in Iraq we gained invaluable knowledge of the area of operations in Kuwait, Jordan, Dubai, and Iraq. We have done worldwide acquisition of basic and highly technical equipment, customs clearance in Kuwait, warehousing in various places including Kuwait and Baghdad, shipping and transportation into southern central and northern Iraq, inventory control and issuance, and general logistics management.
Reed had a 30-month contract in Iraq, receiving and maintaining Armored Security Vehicles (ASV’S) procured by the Iraqi Police from the USA. This included the construction and management of the maintenance facilities as well as all procurement of spare parts and equipment on the program. We were also responsible for the training of the Iraqi crews to be able to maintain and operate the vehicles.
Reed provided logistical actions in support of Hurricane Katrina victims in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. We serviced a logistics contract in the out of Baton Rouge in support of the Red Cross.
